“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…” or perhaps ‘Two wrongs don’t make a right,” - except in this case. Technically speaking, it’s neither a donut nor a muffin- but it feels like the most reasonable thing to call it- and so we do just that. We call it a donut muffin.

A dense, lightly spiced, buttery muffin with an unbelievably delicate, soft crumb that is rolled in hot melty butter and then immediately into sugar- lending that donut-like quality to what would otherwise be an already ridiculously good muffin-shaped cake... confused? sorry. I’ll let go of trying to reconcile the absurd name with the experience of this delightful treat and just tell you: it’s stupid delicious.
